Job purpose
The accountant for the global entities based in Switzerland is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and accounting records for several central companies within an international group. This role ensures compliance with IFRS, Swiss GAAP FER, and the Swiss Code of Obligations, while maintaining strong financial controls and supporting efficient financial operations. The position works closely with the Shared Service Centre in India and contributes to finance-related IT projects, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality financial reporting and operational excellence.
Principal accountabilities
Prepare monthly financial statements independently in accordance with IFRS for multiple central group companies.
Prepare annual statutory financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations.
Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and ensure accounting accuracy and compliance.
Coordinate and oversee the posting of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in collaboration with the Shared Service Centre.
Execute and monitor overhead cost allocations across entities.
Serve as a key finance contact for the Shared Service Centre in India, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
Support finance-related IT projects and system enhancements affecting accounting processes and the finance function.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within the finance organization.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
Commercial apprenticeship, commercial diploma, or Federal Certificate in Accounting (or equivalent qualification).
Several years of accounting experience within an international corporate environment.
Strong expertise in IFRS and sound technical accounting knowledge.
Very good knowledge of Swiss GAAP FER and Swiss statutory accounting requirements.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
Strong IT affinity and ability to work with finance systems and digital tools.
Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
Team-oriented, resilient, flexible, and able to work effectively in an international environment.
