We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager EUCAN to oversee tax matters across Europe, including Eastern Europe, and act as a key business partner.

Description

As Tax Manager EUCAN, you will manage and advise on tax matters across your regional portfolio, working closely with finance, business, and global tax stakeholders to ensure compliance, manage risk, and support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as the primary tax business partner for countries in scope, advising on tax implications of transactions and operational changes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with finance, legal, supply chain, HR, business development, and country leadership teams
  • Own corporate income tax compliance for the region, coordinating with shared service centers and external tax advisors
  • Lead and manage tax audits at federal, regional, and local levels, including communication with tax authorities
  • Ensure professional, transparent, and consistent interactions with tax authorities
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks, supporting tax controversy and litigation where required
  • Oversee indirect taxes, withholding taxes, and other local taxes, ensuring efficient and compliant processes
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess business impact
  • Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and adjustments with transfer pricing teams
  • Review contracts and business initiatives from a tax perspective
  • Drive process improvements and simplification within a shared services environment

Profile

Required qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Law; advanced degree preferred, ideally with a focus on taxation
  • +3 years of experience in a tax role within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or professional services (Big 4) environment
  • Strong knowledge of corporate income tax and regional tax frameworks, including Eastern Europe
  • Solid understanding of accounting for income taxes
  • Strong analytical and problem?solving skills, with the ability to present clear recommendations to stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across a matrix organization
  • Multilingual capabilities; English required

Nice to have:

  • CPA or local tax specialist certification
  • Experience in multinational or life sciences organizations
  • Exposure to shared services models
  • Interest in tax technology and process optimization
  • Public accounting background
  • Fluency in an Eastern European language
