To support our organisation we are looking for our offices in Yverdon-les-Bains for a:
Business Controller
Purpose:
The Business Controller / Industrial Project Controller supports the financial performance of production operations and customer projects by providing accurate cost analysis, profitability monitoring and operational financial insights. The role acts as a key business partner to Operations and Project Management, ensuring effective cost control, products valuation, budgeting, forecasting and compliance with IFRS standards. The position also contributes to the continuous improvement of ERP controlling tools and reporting processes.
Key objectives:

Improve project profitability through accurate cost tracking, forecasting and margin analysis.

Strengthen production cost control and operational financial performance.

Ensure accurate inventory valuation and IFRS-compliant financial reporting.

Support budgeting, forecasting and business decision-making with reliable financial analysis.

Enhance ERP and Power BI reporting processes to improve financial visibility and data quality.

Data owner of cost accounting chart and business dimensions.
Role & Responsibilities:
Project & Commercial Controlling

Monitor financial performance, profitability and cash flow of sales orders and long-term projects.

Analyze budget variances and prepare project accounting entries in compliance with IFRS 15 (revenue recognition principles).

Support Business Units and Project Managers with margin analysis, costing and risk assessment forecasting.

Prepare project KPIs and support internal and external audit requests.
Industrial & Production Controlling

Maintain standard costs and analyze production cost variances.

Monitor operational KPIs and support manufacturing profitability analysis.

Perform cost simulations and support pricing and operational decision-making.

Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain Business Transformation and HR to ensure accurate costing and reporting.
Inventory & Cost Accounting

Perform inventory accounting, reconciliation and valuation activities during month-end close.

Ensure accurate reporting of raw materials, WIP and finished goods.

Coordinate physical inventory counts and inventory adjustments.

Compute obsolescence and slow moving items.

Monitor inventory processes and compliance with internal controls.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis

Support annual budgets, forecasts and operational financial planning.

Analyze cost drivers and provide financial insights to management.

Support Capex tracking, investment analysis and fixed asset controls.

Contribute to operational and project cash flow forecasting.
ERP, Systems & Continuous Improvement

Lead and support the integration of project controlling and project management processes into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI.

Act as a key finance business partner in ERP enhancement projects, ensuring efficient project tracking, costing, forecasting and reporting within the ERP environment.

Coordinate with Finance, Operations and IT teams to optimize project management workflows and reporting automation.

Improve financial reporting processes, automation and data quality.

Ensure compliance with Group policies and internal controls.
Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, with a recognized accounting qualification; strong knowledge of Swiss CO and IFRS is an asset

5–8 years of experience in controlling, industrial finance or project controlling within a manufacturing environment

Strong expertise in production costing, inventory accounting, budgeting and project financial management

Background with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Advanced Power BI, Agent AI or Claude AI (or equivalent) skills

Advanced MS Office suite

Experience participating in or leading ERP implementation and process improvement projects, particularly related to project controlling, costing and operational finance

Strong understanding of ERP-based project management and financial tracking processes, ideally within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Strong analytical, financial modeling and cross-functional business partnering capabilities in an international environment
