Could you be the full-time Electrical Engineer for Converter Engineering (f/m/d) in Zürich we’re looking for?
Your Future Role
140 years of Swiss railway history meet modern solutions for green mobility in Zurich. With 300 colleagues, our Zurich site servs as a global competence center for high-performance traction technology and a development hub for locomotives, bogies, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as services for the local and global markets. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to Dominik Reinhard, Traction Power Domain Leader and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We’ll look for you to:
•
Design electrical systems integrated into converters and develop complete converters, along with the necessary documentation (e.g., electrical circuit diagrams and operation manuals)
•
Specify investigations and conduct type and routine tests, analyzing the test results
•
Serve as the Project Engineer responsible for assigned work packages, ensuring adherence to quality, time, and budget constraints
•
Coordinate with colleagues in electrical engineering contributing to application and development projects
•
Provide support for converters in operation worldwide and evaluate concepts for converters and their subassemblies in close partnership with mechanical engineering

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
•
Experience in Development or Project Engineering
•
Strong background in electronics design, particularly with power electronics core components for converter systems
•
Experience in project management, able to execute a subset of the project management activities related to the department
•
Proficient in MS Office and experienced with circuit drawing and simulation tools, as well as software such as MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW
•
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both German and English, enabling effective collaboration in a diverse environment
