Job description:
Following recent international expansion and integration activities, the company is seeking a Financial Manager to support and oversee finance operations for its French and Swiss entities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to work in a multicultural and entrepreneurial environment with broad exposure across accounting, tax, reporting, and process improvement activities.
The role is based in Saint-Louis, France, and will require frequent visits to the Basel office.
Position Summary
The Financial Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting and finance activities for the group’s entities in France and Switzerland. The role covers statutory accounting, tax compliance, financial reporting, audit coordination, and financial process optimisation.
The successful candidate will work closely with local and international stakeholders and play a key role in supporting the continued growth and structuring of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
•
Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for group reporting purposes in a timely and accurate manner
•
Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities for the Swiss entity, including:
•
General ledger accounting
•
Journal entries and reconciliations
•
Monthly and annual closings
•
Financial statement preparation
•
Tax provisions and filings
•
Coordination of annual audits
•
Review accounting records and financial statements for the French entity to ensure accuracy and consistency
•
Ensure the timely preparation and submission of VAT, corporate income tax, and other statutory declarations
•
Support annual tax reconciliations and compliance activities
•
Assist in improving and standardising accounting policies, financial procedures, and internal controls across the group
•
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders on finance-related matters
•
Support the local business teams on finance and operational topics as required
Profile
•
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
•
Approximately 5–7 years of accounting and finance experience
•
Strong experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting
•
Previous exposure to international environments, ideally within trading, financial services, or commodity-related industries
•
Business fluency in French, German, and English is required
•
Proficiency with Excel and ERP/accounting systems
•
Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
