Description du poste

Founded on 14 April 1900 in Paris, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the world governing body for cycling. Its mission is to develop and oversee cycling in all its forms and for everyone, as a competitive sport, a healthy leisure activity, and a means of transport. The UCI also promotes its own events, including the UCI Road World Championships, an iconic annual event, along with numerous other World Championships and World Cups across the various disciplines. Its headquarters are located in Aigle, Switzerland, at the UCI World Cycling Centre.
To strengthen its Sports Department, the UCI is looking for a:
Head of Cycling Disciplines 100% - English-French
Mission:
As Head of Cycling Disciplines, you play a key role in managing and developing all of the UCI's cycling disciplines. Reporting to the Sports Director, you oversee the Road, Para Cycling, Off-Road, Track and Indoor Cycling disciplines — working closely with the Sports Disciplines Managers.
You bring together multidisciplinary teams around shared objectives, in a demanding and constantly evolving international environment.
Key responsibilities:
Contribute to implementing the UCI's strategic objectives relating to the various disciplines and the UCI Agenda 2030
Provide a decisive contribution to the UCI's road cycling activities on all strategic matters led by the President, the Director General and the Sports Director, including but not limited to: the reform of professional cycling and the development and enhancement of UCI assets
Participate, alongside senior management, in defining the strategy for the organisation of the sports disciplines
Work in close collaboration with the Sports Director and the Sports Disciplines Managers
Lead and unite a multidisciplinary, experienced team of 25 staff members while ensuring the professional development of each team member.
Oversee the four units: Road, Para Cycling, Off-Road, and Track/Indoor Cycling
Develop all cycling disciplines and promote participation among men, women and para-cyclists
Take responsibility for budgets and resources across all areas related to the sports disciplines
Develop and implement the UCI regulations for the disciplines
Oversee the establishment of the UCI International Calendar for the disciplines
Manage, on behalf of the Sports Department, the UCI DataRide strategic project
Manage the Athletes' Commission
Provide expertise and guidance to National Federations and external stakeholders
Take charge of the strategic UCI Data Ride project starting Q4 2026 or Q1 2027.
Profile:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in managing and overseeing strategic projects
In-depth knowledge and expertise of Road cycling: competitive structure, international calendar, teams, the discipline's regulatory framework, and established credibility within the Road cycling community and its stakeholders
Good working knowledge of the other UCI disciplines — Track, MTB, BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle, Cyclo-cross, Trials, Para Cycling, Gravel and Indoor Cycling — sufficient to oversee and coordinate them effectively
Natural leadership, with the ability to inspire, guide and develop a team
Fluent in English and French, both spoken and written; Spanish and/or Italian are an asset
Strong understanding of sports governance and the international sporting environment
Proactive and results-oriented, with excellent strategic, organisational and analytical skills
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Impeccable integrity and a strong sense of professional ethics
Availability to travel during the week and on weekends.
