Key Account Manager (f/m/x) 80 – 100%

This is more than a classic sales role. It is a strategically relevant position at the intersection of
key account management, business development and innovation
. You will act as the voice of the customer within Trafag, deeply understanding customer pain points, application challenges and future needs. You will own and develop strategic customer relationships and act as the central interface between customers, sales, product management, engineering and operations. You will play a decisive role in expanding Trafag’s footprint in key markets and applications.
🚀 What You'll Do

Manage and develop a portfolio of global and strategic key accounts with full commercial responsibility

Build long-term, trust-based partnerships with key customers at all levels, from engineering to executive management

Deeply understand customer applications, pain points, unmet needs and future requirements across industries

Act as a key contributor to innovation and business development by feeding structured customer insights into product management and R&D

Proactively identify and validate new product ideas, solution concepts and new market opportunities together with internal stakeholders

Support the definition of product roadmaps, value propositions and go-to-market strategies based on real customer needs

Drive account strategies, pricing models, negotiations and contract management

Coordinate closely with product management, R&D, application engineering, marketing and supply chain to ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction

Monitor market, technology and competitor developments within your key industries

Represent Trafag at customer workshops, innovation meetings, trade fairs and industry events

Prepare sales forecasts, account plans and business cases for new opportunities

Report directly to the Head of Sales
💡 What You Bring

University degree in technical or economic discipline (e.g. Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Business Administration or a comparable field)

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, key account management or business development in an industrial or high-tech environment

Strong technical understanding of sensors, measurement technology or comparable industrial products and applications; experience in power distribution, specifically high voltage switchgear is a plus

High level of drive, intrinsic motivation and entrepreneurial mindset, with a strong willingness to take ownership and proactively shape opportunities

Proven ability to translate customer challenges into commercially viable product or solution ideas

Experience working cross-functionally with product management, R&D and engineering teams • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution and strong analytical skills

Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills

High customer orientation with the ability to challenge customer requirements constructively • Willingness to travel internationally ~25% of working time

Fluency in English; German is a strong advantage
