Lead Technical Writer (all genders), 80-100%, Medical Devices

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Technical Writer to lead a small team responsible for creating high-quality product documentation for healthcare professionals and regulatory authoroties wordlwide. Working in a highly collaborative environmnet, you will lead a team of technical writers and partner with engineering, clinical, regulatry, and product management stakeholders to deliver clear, accurate, and compliant documentation that enables user to get the most from the product.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technical documentation professional who enjoys combining team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for creating exceptional user information in a highly regulated industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead an develop a small team of Technical Writers
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver end-user documentation for medical decives
• Manage documenation reviews, approvals, translations, and publishing activties
• Ensure documentation projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards

Profile

Must have:

• Several years of experience in technical writing and documentation for an end-user audience, ideally with medical devices
• Proven experience leading or mentoring technical writing teams and managing documentation
• Strong project management and organizational abilities, with experience managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, and timelines
• Proactive, self-driven, and solution-oriented minset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Collaborative and proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts, engineering specifications, and software functionality
• Experience with XML-based content management systems (ST4), FrameMaker, InDesign, Acrobat and willingnes to learn more
• Strong understanding of documentation standards, templates, publishing processes, and content governance
• Native-level English, German is a plus (or willingness to learn)

• Background in Science or Engineering
• Graphic communication or information visualisation skills
