You will drive operational excellence in an environment of growing data volumes, tighter timelines, and increasing quality expectations. This role calls for a proactive leader who embraces change, promotes automation, and consistently ensures delivery against defined SLAs for a diverse set of stakeholders.

This role combines strategic oversight of data-driven portfolio monitoring operations with technical expertise in managing multi-layered private market investments, ensuring the firm and its investors have comprehensive, timely, and actionable insights on fund and portfolio company performance and risks, in line with best practices used by leading industry firms.

Your main responsibilities as Portfolio Monitoring Team Lead include:

Operation

  • Lead and manage end-to-end data extraction and request handling processes, ensuring delivery within defined SLAs, timelines, and KPIs across all investment and operating metrics;

  • Proactively identify and address operational risks, bottlenecks, and quality issues;

  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality and process efficiency, especially as extraction volumes increase;

  • Ensure operational capabilities and resources scale with business growth and evolving requirements.

Team leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the portfolio monitoring team to deliver high performance in a dynamic environment;

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across geography;

  • Champion change and support team adoption of new tools, processes, and automation initiatives.

Process optimization and management

  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency and quality;

  • Encourage the team to suggest and drive day-to-day operational enhancements;

  • Support and contribute to larger strategic change initiatives in collaboration with project teams.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in private markets operations, portfolio monitoring, data analytics, or related roles within fund-of-funds, private equity, or asset management firms;

  • Strong expertise in investment metrics (e.g., IRR, MOIC, DPI) and operational KPIs (e.g., revenue growth, EBITDA, customer metrics) sourced at both fund and portfolio company levels;

  • Relevant qualifications such as CFA, CAIA, or equivalent, alongside a deep understanding of private markets fund-of-funds structures and investment processes;

  • Experience of private markets systems such as DealCloud, Investran and iLEVEL and understanding of related private markets data models;

  • Degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field at Bachelor or Master level;

  • Several years of professional experience in operational management and process improvement; experience in the financial industry would be an asset;

  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end operational activities within defined timelines and KPIs;

  • Strong understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks;

  • Demonstrated ability to triage, prioritize, and execute requests based on business impact;

  • Experience in leading teams and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across geographies;

  • Exposure to system implementations or organizational change initiatives;

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in English; German would be an asset;

  • Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines while maintaining quality;

  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and motivated team player.
