R&amp;
D Application Engineer</h1> <p>
The R&amp;
D Application Engineer is involved in the integration &amp; testing of complete CMM systems and their components currently under development by other Hexagon R/D sites.
He/she uses customer knowledge to better define and implement the test applications required for new product integration.
He/she identifies problems in a systematic way and collaborates with other experts to propose suitable solutions.
He/she supports the marketing &amp; service departments through his/her participation in the required deliverables (ISO part programs creation, employment cases).</p> <p> <strong>
Main activities : </strong> </p> <ul> <li>
Participation in projects related to the integration of sensor products within the HEXAGON group (multi-sites): cost and schedule estimation, definition of requirements and acceptance criteria, reporting</li> <li>
Collecting constraints, issues and customer needs and translating them into customer specifications</li> <li>
Developing application programs for part measurement or ISO requirements</li> <li>
Assessing the validity of customers' measurement process (MAS, GR&amp;
R, Cp/Cpk)</li> <li>
Conducting hardware and software product demonstrations, including advanced/custom demos showcasing technical features and workflows</li> <li>
Staying up to date with advancements in application engineering and new technologies</li> <li>
Interfacing with the marketing or service departments about their deliverables (application notes, user guide, catalog, training, support)</li> <li>
Performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting and proposing appropriate short- and long-term solutions together with the development team.</li> <li>
Installing measuring machines or troubleshooting them in case of simple to complex issues</li> <li>
Optimization test plans (DoE approach) according to cost, quality and schedule criteria</li> <li>
Discuss with Product Management, stakeholders and challenge decisions when needed to ensure the customer perspective is fully considered</li> <li>
Maintain the catalogue of use-case parts, testing tools, scripts, and programs</li> <li>
Ability to deliver technical training on PC-DMIS or other technologies when required</li> </ul> <p> <strong>
Your profile : </strong> </p> <ul> <li>
Degree in microengineering, software engineering, metrology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or an equivalent field</li> <li>
Good knowledge of PC-DMIS/QUINDOS (or equivalent) and programming skills (python, etc.)</li> <li>
Experience integrating new products within the dimensional or precision-measurement industry</li> <li>
Experience as a test engineer in technical and complex environments involving mechanics, electronics, software and ideally optics</li> <li>
Knowledge of dimensional-measurement standards (e.g., ISO 10360) or similar</li> <li>
Solid experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and sensors, especially Hexagon products or equivalent systems.</li> <li>
Experience in software testing (unit, regression testing) is an asset</li> <li>
Experience using Jira and Confluence;
X-ray or Tes
Rail is a plus</li> <li>
Strong knowledge in measurement/metrology, the competitive landscape, the ability to understand customer needs</li> <li>
Involvement in innovative or technology-driven projects.</li> <li>
Language skills:
English is a must, French is strong asset</li> <li>
