    "description": "The group of\nDr. Selma Dahmane\nat the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research is seeking a research assistant to support a new collaborative project with the group of\nDr. Jeffrey Chao\n. The project will investigate how the localization and translation of specific mRNAs are regulated in neurons, and how these processes may be altered in neurodevelopmental disorders.\nThe work combines advanced cell culture, molecular biology, genome engineering, single-molecule imaging, cryo-electron microscopy, and cryo-electron tomography. We are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual who enjoys working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment and contributing to the development and application of cutting-edge approaches in cellular and molecular neuroscience.\nThe position is offered as a three-year fixed-term contract.\nIn this role, you will:\nGenerate and maintain cell culture lines, including induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines and iPSC-derived neurons.\nOptimize cell culture conditions and apply genome-engineering tools.\nConduct experiments using molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.\nAnalyze data, document results, and contribute to their interpretation.\nCollaborate with and support the work of a small research team.\nAbout you\nYou hold a Master’s degree in biology or a in a related field, or have completed training as a laboratory technician or assistant.\nYou have hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture. Experience with iPSC or neuronal cell culture is an advantage.\nYou have experience with standard molecular biology or biochemistry techniques.     "description": "The IT team of the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) is looking for an experienced\nCloud Platform Engineer\nto drive FMI’s transition to a modern hybrid cloud architecture.\nThe FMI IT team supports 20 scientific research groups and multiple technology platforms. Our ability to generate insights from large-scale experimental data depends on having reliable and scalable computing platforms.
