CAD-Builder / Jewellery Designer
Workload: 60–100% | Location: Horgen, Zurich | Starting date: asap / by agreement
At our company, jewellery is created not only from ideas – but from precision.
Precious Metal Casting AG is a modern Swiss jewellery manufacturing company based in Horgen on Lake Zurich. We combine innovative production technologies with traditional craftsmanship and support our B2B clients throughout the entire process – from the initial idea and CAD development to prototyping and the fully finished, stone-set piece of jewellery.
To strengthen our growing team, we are looking for a technically skilled and solution-oriented professional with strong expertise in digital 3D design and construction.
Your responsibilities
Creating precise 3D models based on sketches, reference images, technical specifications or client ideas
Developing and refining jewellery pieces and individual client projects in CAD
Technically optimising models for 3D printing, casting, assembly and subsequent production stages
Adapting and further developing existing CAD models
Reviewing wall thicknesses, proportions, fittings and technical feasibility
Working closely with our goldsmithing, casting, stone-setting and production teams
Supporting projects from the initial CAD construction through to the finished piece of jewellery
Actively contributing to the further development of our digital processes and quality standards
Your profile
Education or degree in product design, jewellery design or a comparable field
Solid experience in CAD design and excellent spatial awareness
Proficiency in Rhino 3D and MatrixGold
A precise, structured and quality-focused approach to your work
Strong technical understanding and the ability to develop designs that are not only visually convincing but also suitable for production
Motivation to solve demanding tasks independently and take responsibility
Openness to new technologies, materials and production methods
Experience in jewellery design or jewellery construction, as well as knowledge of programs such as Photoshop, InDesign or comparable applications, is an advantage but not a requirement. What matters most to us are your technical design skills, your commitment to quality and your willingness to develop a thorough understanding of the specific requirements of jewellery production.
Training or practical experience as a goldsmith, product designer, technical drafter, CAD designer or in a comparable profession is also highly welcome.
What you can expect from us
Diverse and challenging projects, ranging from unique pieces and bespoke creations to series production
Direct insight into the entire process of creating a piece of jewellery
Modern technologies and a complete production chain under one roof
Short decision-making processes and room for your own ideas
A thorough introduction to jewellery-specific CAD design and production
A dedicated team that thinks ahead, takes responsibility and goes the extra mile together
A growing company where you can actively help shape processes and continue developing your professional expertise
A modern workplace in Horgen on Lake Zurich
Are you the right fit for us?
We are not looking for someone who simply processes one model after another. We are looking for someone who pays close attention to detail, thinks constructively and is committed to transforming an idea into a technically convincing, high-quality and production-ready piece of jewellery.
Please send us your complete application documents, including your CV, employment references and – if available – a portfolio or examples of your previous CAD work, to the email address provided.
We look forward to getting to know you and your work.
