What you’ll do
As a member of our team, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and operational support of CERN’s cryogenics process control systems. You will play an active role in major consolidation projects carried out during Long Shutdown 3, supporting the cryogenic infrastructure of the LHC accelerator as well as the ATLAS and CMS detectors.
This diverse role combines software development, hardware installation, and system integration activities. You will collaborate closely with a wide range of CERN services and work alongside the Cryogenics Operations team to deliver reliable and innovative solutions that support world-leading scientific research.
Your responsibilities
•
Contribute to the design, development, implementation and commissioning of control systems, using automated software production methods based on GitLab CI and CERN control frameworks.
•
Contribute to the review and propose improvements of process control logic.
•
Participate in the installation and commissioning of control hardware on site.
•
Participate to the maintenance and insertion of control system’s configuration data in CERN’s databases.

You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State . Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.

By the application deadline, you have a master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of professional parcours professionnel since graduation or a PhD with a maximum of 3 years of professional expertise since graduation. You are not eligible with only a bachelor’s degree.
•
You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
